The city of Opa-locka is joining the movement to ban sagging pants. City Commissioner Timothy Holmes is sponsoring the ordinance to keep youngsters from wearing pants around their rear ends.
On the surface that sounds fine but the shameful message is that our children are out of control. Yeah, they are. How anyone thinks that sagging pants look good is a mystery to me but hey we've all been young and foolish, haven't we?
Anyhoo, if the ordinance is approved, so be it, but our children need to be respectful of themselves and others.
