It's great to read something positive about kids in our community, especially when that kid is an athlete and a scholar. Miami Herald reporter Andre' C. Fernandez featured Central running back Brandon Gainer in an article that ran on Thanksgiving Day. Young Gainer has overcome odds and has become a catalyst the school's football team. In addition to his coaches, he has a supportive family and is already being scouted by major college teams.
As a junior with a 4.0 GPA, the sky is the limit for Gainer. He can continue his studies after high school on either an academic or athletic scholarship.
Let's spread this good news about this young man and congratulate him if you see him in person.
