ALONZO MOURNING CHARITIES ANNOUNCES 4TH ANNUAL ZO’S “KING PIN” CLASSIC
ALONZO MOURNING AND FRIENDS TO GATHER ON SOUTH BEACH FOR A NIGHT OF CRASHING PINS
MIAMI, FL (October 22, 2008) – 'Spare' some time this January for the annual Zo's "King Pin" Classic, hosted by Alonzo Mourning Charities. Join Alonzo and Tracy Wilson Mourning as they hit the lanes on Thursday, January 22nd, 2009 at Lucky Strike Lanes (1691 Michigan Ave.) on South Beach from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Teams from throughout South Florida will have the opportunity to bowl alongside the Mournings and strike down pins for a good cause. Benefits from Zo's "King Pin" Classic go towards the Honey Shine Mentoring Program, a program of Alonzo Mourning Charities, which works to empower young girls to shine as women.
Celebrating its 4th year on the lanes, Zo's "King Pin" Classic has become a staple event for Alonzo Mourning Charities, raising more than $100,000 in the past three years. Teams of ten and individual slots are open for those who wish to try on their bowling shoes, available at $5,000 and $500 respectively. Those who bowl will be able to claim official bowling shirts for the event, a commemorative team gift, and photo with the Mournings.
Not ready to bowl them over? General admission is $100 and you can still rub elbows at the ticketed-only event! An auction and raffles of various treasures will keep the entire crowd in a frenzy as cocktails and hors d'oeuvres are served throughout the evening, accompanied by great music from Miami's own DJ Irie. Rounds at the billiards tables, relaxation at massage stations, and virtual bowling on Nintendo Wii will also be included.
Who will claim the next "King Pin" title? How many strikes will ring throughout these South Beach lanes? And, what exciting prizes await those who attend? These questions linger until the shoelaces are tied and pins are set in place. Be sure to claim your spot—whether it's on the lanes or in the crowd! General admission tickets are limited and on sale now for only $100. Contact Alisha Sanford at (305) 476-0095 ext. 109 or asanford@amcharities.org.
