Happy Friday, Blogging Black Miami readers! I'm trying something new by moblogging with my BlackBerry Bold!
My goal is to get from Midtown to the 79th Street Causeway by 5:30. I'd planned to leave the office by a quarter to five but that didn't happen.
I left about five after five with little hope of making my appointment on time. If I don't get this done today, I have to get up early tomorrow morning and start this task once again.
Well, I'm feeling adventurous so I'll give it a go.
As expected, traffic is thick. It's not ridiculously thick but I know I'll never make it if I take Biscayne Boulevard. Taking NE 2nd Ave to Federal Highway and up to 71st street seems okay in spite of an Astro van in front of me that's doing 15 mph. I want to roll down my window and shout, "It's not school zone hours!"
I make it over to Biscayne and the traffic is much lighter. There is, however, a truck in front of me that insists on driving as if we're in a school zone.
It's 5:23 so I have plenty of time. I make my appointment at 5:27 so I'm good to go. I could have made it five minutes earlier but that doesn't really matter now, does it?
It's 2009 and I'm practicing patience and being more strategic in focusing my energy on selected projects.
