Meek expected to announce run for Senate

Will he or won't he? Congressman Kendrick Meek is expected to officially announce his run for the Senate seat currently held by Mel Martinez who announced he would not seek re-election in 2010.

It's rumored that Meek will make the announcement at 10 AM today. If elected, he would become the first black senator from Florida. He would also defeat an anticipated crowded race of contenders including Marco Rubio, Dan Gelber and Alex Sink. Stay tuned.
