Sunday August 23, 2009 from 11:00pm-1:00am on 105.1fm (WHQT) Hot Talk Chief Jimmie L Brown will host the Honorable Orlando Prescott, newly appointed administrative judge of the juvenile system for Miami Dade county.
Prescott was a prosecutor at the Miami Dade State Attorney's office (8/1984-1/1991) under State Attorney Janet Reno who later became United States Attorney General. He worked as an Assistant United States Attorney (1/1991-6/2000) until becoming a County Court judge (2000) in domestic violence. In 2005 former Governor Jeb Bush elevated Prescott to a circuit court judge. This past July the new chief judge, Joel H. Brown, tapped Circuit Judge Orlando Prescott as the new administrative judge in juvenile
With his new challenge of Miami Dade's juvenile court system, Prescott is expected to bring about " new leadership and a fresh perspective". On Hot Talk, Judge Orlando Prescott will discuss with Chief Brown his vision for the Miami Dade juvenile court system and if time permits answer questions from the listening audience.
