Black candidate and Buckwheat comment

Congressional candidate Corey Poitier is trying to clean up the comment he made at a recent Broward Republican Executive Committee Meeting when he referred to President Barack Obama as Buckwheat. Poitier is the lone Republican candidate in the race for the U.S. Congressional seat currently held by Kendrick Meek. Surely, this is not the publicity Poitier desired.

Now, in fairness, Poitier apologized for his comment. He also danced around a rather lame defense of his words. Poitier's words are just as offensive, if not more so, coming from a black man about another black man. His opinion about Obama's health care plan is one thing; his racist words, quite another.
