FLORIDA MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
“Writing Women Back into History”
MIAMI GARDENS, FL [MARCH 10, 2010] – To culminate National Women’s History Month, Florida Memorial University’s School of Education, in conjunction with the Denny’s Single Parent Student Resource Center, will host the THIRD ANNUAL WOMEN’S EXPO on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from noon to 6:00 pm. In celebration of this year’s national theme, “Writing Women Back into History,” there will be varied female vendors with a host of articles for display and purchase. The event will be held in the A. Chester Robinson Athletic Center on the beautiful campus of Florida Memorial University. The Expo will also include the popular Health and Wellness component.
Women all over South Florida are excited about this year’s Women’s Expo. The Expo allows vendors an opportunity to promote their products and services, while networking with other women in the process.
Mrs. Alstene McKinney, co-chairperson of this year’s Women’s Expo, explained the significance of this year’s theme. “The theme promotes our mission to recognize women for their history-making accomplishments and contributions. We are pleased to have an opportunity to showcase remarkable women in the community who contribute their time and resources to make South Florida a more culturally-enriched place to live.”
