Florida New Majority(FNM) is seeking to fill some key campaign positions. Some of these positions will remain full time staff positions beyond the election season.
Founded in 2009, FNM overcomes the history of racism and division in the Sunshine State. By building common cause among diverse communities we are expanding democracy and developing the leadership of underrepresented communities. We are shifting the role of government away from being a pocketbook for corporate interest, to supporting the well-being of all Floridians.
FNM is building a movement for a better, fair and equitable Florida for the benefit of all residents. CAMPAIGN POSITIONS: Campaign Manager: The Campaign Manager is the senior leadership position for a collaborative 2012 campaign. The Campaign Manager is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of field plans to win ballot and electoral campaigns in the 2012 cycle. The Campaign Manager will execute strategies for precinct level base building, mobilization of voters, networking, and connecting with social movement partners and political candidates. The successful candidate will contribute strategic and political analysis and work with the Campaign Steering Committee, Field Director, and Regional Coordinators to build coalitions and alliances with strategic partners. The ideal candidate understands comprehensive campaigns, field operations and adult education methods to develop culturally appropriate capacity building activities and civic engagement opportunities for partners and in the field. Field Director: The Field Director is responsible for directing and managing field operations under the collaborative 2012 Breakthrough Campaign. The Field Director leads the implementation of the canvass operations in an agile field model that expands the base, promotes civic engagement, builds leadership, and generates voter turnout. The Field Director will work in partnership with the Member Development Director and the Campaign Manager to develop field plans and ensure the integration of leadership development and electoral work with ongoing field operations. Communications Coordinator: The Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and directing the organization’s communications strategy for the state. This includes earned media strategy execution for organizational campaigns, maintaining the public face of the organization through training spokespeople, social media, the website, and paid media. Responsibilities include developing communications strategies for campaigns and constituencies, for partners, monitoring effectiveness of the strategy, and supervision of communications associates.
