Governor Rick Scott in his response, Wednesday, to the Department of Justice’s demands to stop the voter purge has demonstrated that he cannot be trusted to protect the interests of Florida Voters.
Scott has embarked upon an insidious campaign to influence the outcome of the 2012 election. “We call on the Department of Justice, and the County Supervisors of Election to stand firm against any effort to disenfranchise Florida voters,”Badili Jones, Policy and Legislative Coordinator of Florida New Majority said. “We are alarmed that the purge list is disproportionately made up of Black and Hispanic U.S. citizens.”
Florida New Majority is working with a broad coalition of Florida’s citizens to prevent any effort on the part of Governor Scott to suppress the vote. FNM calls on Rick Scott to stop the purge now.
