Just as things were looking up for Overtown, a shooting last
night, the opening of the Pop-Warner youth football league injures three
people. Hundreds of children were present but none were injured; all of the
injured were adults. At this time it’s not known if the victims were targeted
or if this was a random shooting.
People who commit crimes such as this, fail to understand or
to care that the entire community is harmed when these incidents occur in
Overtown and other economically distressed areas.
