One of the favorite news anchors in Miami, Jawan Strader, has left CBS4 and joined the news team at NBC6 as weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. He is one of the more active news personalities in the community so NBC6 should definitely come out on the winning end.
Strader’s exit from CBS4 leaves them with two three, count ‘em one….two, three blacks on that news team ---- Jim Berry, Tiffani Helberg and Summer Knowles. Surely management will correct that and not disregard a significant segment of the South Florida market.
As viewers, we must do a better job of communicating with management of media outlets by providing feedback on what we like and don’t like about their news reports. We must also stress the need for more diversity, especially as it relates to blacks.
Words and images are so important. Understand how the lack thereof shapes the consciousness of people in the minority and the majority. Think on this African proverb: “Until lions have their historians, tales of the hunt shall always glorify the hunter.”

CBS has three black reporters...you forgot to mention Summer Knowles.

Did not know Ms. Knowles was on the team. Thank you for the update. Hopefully management will give her more air time.
