Tracy Wilson Mourning Ushers in 2013 Membership Campaign to Keep the Important Work of Honey Shine Moving Forward
Miami, FL - Tracy Wilson Mourning, Founder of Honey Shine program, gathered more than 120 women (and a few good men!) at a members-only luncheon, hosted by Nikki Beach Miami Beach, on Thursday, November 15th, to kick start the 2013 year with the support needed to continue the mission of encouraging young girls to shine as women.
Companies and institutions like Carnival Corporation & plc, Carrollton School, Miami HEAT, Publix Super Markets, Aventura Worldwide Transportation Service, Bank of America, NBC Universal, MCCI Medical Group, MIA Shoes, Physician Access Urgent Care Group, and Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson to name a few, were acknowledged as instrumental sources of support, helping to provide the important tools needed to service the young girls that make up Honey Shine. The mid-day affair was celebratory in part with a champagne reception, lunch buffet, and an awards ceremony acknowledging the dedication of its 2012 Lady Bugs (Members) and Corporate Partners. “I am forever grateful to the community we’ve built that recognizes the importance of uplifting young girls”, said Mourning.
Membership, by both individuals and corporations, continues to be one of the primary funding sources by which more than 180 girls enrolled in the Honey Shine program continue to receive much-needed mentorship. In addition to the fun perks and member-only functions that make up the membership program, each commitment by a new or returning member helps support year-round program activities that include bi-weekly workshops and a six-week summer camp developed to encourage young girls to shine as women.
