Miami-Dade County Public Schools' Dr. Pablo Ortiz and Dr. Denise Barrett-Johnson were awarded top honors for school leadership in Florida during the eighth annual Commissioner's Summit for Principals. Dr. Ortiz received the Principal Achievement Award and Dr. Barrett-Johnson received the Outstanding Assistant Principal Achievement Award. A special shout out to Dr. Barrett-Johnson, a graduate of Florida A&M University, former Miss FAMU and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
