Labor Day Memories in Florida: Racism, Respect and Equity Unrealized

Protests planned for Sessions visit to Miami tomorrow

IMG_0185

With all the racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic vitriol that will forever emblazon Charlottesville, Virginia in the collective psyche of Americans because of this past weekend's horrific events, Miami will be visited tomorrow by US Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III BKA Jeff Sessions. Remember that Sessions was deemed too racist to be a federal judge yet he was nominated and confirmed USAG for the entire United States of America. Anyhoo, Sessions will publicly congratulate Miami-Dade County Mayor Gimenez for turning his back on the immigrant community and caving to Donald Trump's anti-immigrant ICE detainer requests.

Protests are planned for tomorrow, August 17, 2017, starting with gathering at the Torch of Friendship in Downtown Miami (infront of Bayfront Park) at 1:30 p.m. to a march to the Port of Miami. If you are not able to march, join the protest at 2:45 p.m. at the Port of Miami.
