Slickery, trickery and the disenfranchisement of Florida voters
Friday, March 07, 2008
In an effort to seat the Florida delegates at the Democrats' convention, there's a much harder push at play to let the vote stand as is or for a 'do-over'. Again, the rules are the rules but some folks are still talking about the disenfranchisement of Florida voters as if this is a surprise. I've said it before so I won't go into detail again. It all amounts to trickery, slickery and third-world politics. You know, make the rules up as you go along and change them whenever it benefits the Party bosses.
A do-over will likely result in Hillary getting thrashed in Florida. Why? Well, because Obama folks in Florida have been quiet. The superdelegates in Florida have not felt the heat the way John Lewis and his friends did in Georgia but that will surely come to be if there's a do over. If there's not a do-over and Florida delegates are seated, the Clinton camp and old guard Florida politicians will accurately be painted as thieves. Let's just be real.
Anyhoo, Republican Gov. Crist, has been all up in Democrat business and on the campaign trail with John McCain but still hasn't denounced HB 1007 and that confederate flag license plate? Puh-leeze. It's time for Floridians, especially Democrats, to wake up and smell the coffee.
If the DNC doesn't kick out the $18 million to $25 million to pay for the do-over vote then HRC and friends will likely push to let delegate count stand as is and seat Florida. Stay tuned.

What's even more slick is that Senator Clinton was vehemently arguing FOR not seating Florida delegates late last year, as they Florida Dem leadership (with the help of FL Republicas) broke the rules. Now that it would be to her benefit to seat them, its all about how the voters were "disenfranchised." Which one is it Senator?

What in the world are you talking about? Explain yourself.

Trickery and slickery is right. HRC campaigned in Florida inspite of the ban. Teflon Bill, Teflon Hill, there's no difference.
