Political Fever is Contagious in South Florida
Tuesday, October 07, 2008
In little more than an hour, the eagerly anticipated second debate between presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain is set to start. Obama's margin in the polls continue to widen. McCain has become more vitriolic and Palin has been particularly mean-spirited.
As can be expected, the ugly vestiges of racism have become more apparent with the spewing of racial epithets at McCain-Palin rallies and even verbal attacks upon blacks.
It is difficult to believe McPalin wants to win so desperately that they would sit idly by and encourage such behavior.
Anyhoo, it's exciting to see folks in South Florida so excited by tonight's debate. The largest debate watch party will likely be at Gulfstream Park in Broward County. Radio personality Michael Baisden is hosting that event and other folks from the HOT 105 family are expected to attend.
Tonight's debate format is town hall which is typically a strong point of McCain. Check it out starting at 9 PM ET and let's see what happens.
