The Marlins Stadium parking garage cost increases more than $40 million
In what was so not a surprise, the City of Miami Commissioners got the bad news that the projected Marlins Stadium parking garage cost of $94 million increased to $135 million.
Stadium opponents will likely rub that in the faces of the commissioners who supported the deal and surely, the last few weeks of the upcoming elections will find Commissioners Joe Sanchez and Michelle Spence-Jones in defense mode regarding their vote on the project. Those additional $41 million will not be lost on the voters taxpayers in the City of Miami.
Don’t get it twisted, the City of Miami Commission took the first hit in announcing a cost increase in the Marlins Stadium project. There will likely be more increases before the project is completed. How the taxpayers respond to the increases is the big question. Stay tuned.

This stadium deal was a rip-off from the beginning. People who actually need jobs were used for support for a project that will benefit a few at the expense of many. It's a shame.
