Hundreds of job seekers attended the free public event! Full-time, part-time and seasonal employment opportunities were available with many industry leaders!

(North Miami Beach, FL)—Thursday, October 28, 2010 - The Parent, Teacher and Student Association (PTSA) of North Miami Beach Senior High School with the support of the Faculty and Staff of North Miami Beach Senior High School and the Greater North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce hosted its 1st Annual NMB Charger Job Fair. Hundreds of job seekers beset the North Miami Beach Senior High School campus in search of employment opportunities.

Representatives from Allied Barton Security Services, American Guard Services Inc, Florida Highway Patrol, Herbalife, Home Depot, Home Instead Senior Care, Kuppa Koffee, Miami Dade College, Mount Sinai at Aventura, and The United States Army were all onsite to recruit potential new employees. Career service providers included Advanced Technical Centers, Beauty Schools of America, and Everest College, who also offered blood pressure checks to guests.

Though the 1st Annual NMB Charger Job Fair was targeted to North Miami Beach Senior High School parents and guardians, all adults were welcome to attend for employment opportunities. Job candidates traveled from as far away as Fort Lauderdale, Little Haiti, and Miami Lakes to attend. “I’m optimistic that I will land something from one of the many jobs that I applied for tonight,” remarked Monique Marshall, a Liberty City resident, “I just got my certification to become a Certified Nursing Assistant so I was glad to see Mount Sinai and Home Instead are hiring.”

Careers opportunities ranged from positions in law enforcement, sales distribution, retail, home health care, nursing, security, management and military. Full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs were available. Job seekers were able to apply on the spot for many positions, and employers gave web links for other job openings.

“This job fair was the first of its kind,” stated Billy Ridore, Vice Principal at North Miami Beach Senior High School, “No other PTA is doing anything like this. We hope to be even more successful next time.”

High interest and participation with the inaugural job fair prompted the members of the NMB PTSA to already begin planning their next event. Many recruiters involved in this job fair committed to return, and employers who were not able to attend the 1st Annual NMB Charger Job Fair requested information about how to become involved in the future. “This was a great turnout,” remarked Gerri Lazarre, President of North Miami Beach Senior High School PTSA, “we couldn’t have done it without the faculty and staff, parents, students, community partners, and of course, the many great companies represented here tonight.”
