The last of the eleven felony suspects in the November 19, 2011 hazing death of FAMU drum major Robert Champion surrendered to authorities yesterday in Orlando. LaSherry Codner, the only female charged thus far, is a percussionist in the famed FAMU Marching 100 and a graduate of Miami Norland High School.

Codner and ten other FAMU band members face up to six years in prison, if convicted. Two band members have been charged with misdemeanors but they have yet to be publicly identified.

She also increases the Miami connection in Champion's death. The defendants from Miami are: Jessie Baskin; LaSherry Codner; Benjamin McNamee and Rikki Wills.

FAMU assistant professors in the music department and assistant band directors Diron Holloway and Anthony Simons who resigned to avoid termination in connection with a Kappa Kappa Psi Band Fraternity hazing incident are also from Miami.
