Early Voting in Florida: Mayhem and Foolishness
Sunday, November 04, 2012
Good morning, family! Pray for me because need Jesus this morning. Actually I need Jesus every morning but today I am thinking some un-Christian thoughts after reading that the last early voters in North Miami finished at 1:40 this morning. 1:40? ---- that's actually 2:40 a.m. because of Daylight Savings Time.
Do the math. Those two voters were in line for at least almost eight hours. Let that marinate a bit. EIGHT HOURS! This is the United States of America for Christ's sake! That's just shameful.
In addition to reports of voters becoming ill while waiting in line, there were reports of vehicles being ticketed or towed for illegal parking because there simply weren't enough parking spaces at many early voting sites.
The total number of early voters increased each day of the early voting period. So even with more voting machines at some sites the number of citizens participating showed just how abusive shortening the early voting period was for citizens in Florida.

The voter suppressive tactics of the Republican Party in Florida are just shameful and ridiculous. It shows the lengths they will go to make Barack Obama a one-term president; gain full control of this nation and continue us on the path of dividing us into the haves and the have nots. And don't get me started on those have nots who are actually committing suicide and condoning genocide.
We must become more engaged in our government and not just active participants during election time. We must organize and strategize to overcome the tyranny of Rick Scott and the Republican Party.
Let's take back Florida! Vote a straight Democrat ticket, retain all judges and vote NO on all constitutional amendments. That is all.

I voted in Hollywood. I waited 3 hours and about 30 minutes, overall it was orderly but the "poll watchers" were out in force. They would come up to folk and query about their voter eligibility and "advise" them that maybe they wouldn't be allowed to vote based on their ID that indicated a Dade as opposed to Broward address. 2 people left the line and she told them they would be able to vote on Sunday. A man in front of me and I said loudly, early voting ends today, why are you giving incorrect info. The poll watcherquickly left to verify the info. Remember folks don't leave let the actual poll workers turn you away, not these so called poll watchers.
