Looking for Young Leaders in Miami

MIAMIAre you at least 17 years old and really want to make a difference in the community? If the answer is yes, check out Public Allies Miami. At Public Allies, talented young adults from diverse backgrounds are identified and prepared for careers in community and social change.

If selected, you will be placed with a local nonprofit organization and participate in a full-time, paid apprenticeship for 10 months. In addition, you will attend regular skill-building and leadership development sessions with your cohort of Allies. You will use your new leadership skills to strengthen your placement and connect to the leaders and organizations in your community to help address real issues.

Benefits

You're eligible to receive:

  • a monthly stipend of $1,500
  • healthcare
  • childcare
  • student loan deferment
  • an education award of $5,550 after completing the program to pay back student loans or pay for future education across the county.

Requirements

To participate in the Public Allies program, you must:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident
