Encourage a young leader to apply for Youth Leadership Miami 2014
Wednesday, December 18, 2013
Youth Leadership Miami’s mission is to cultivate young leaders from all segments of our community by educating, developing and encouraging them to become actively engaged in the community -- today and in the future.
During the two-day conference, participating teens from Miami- Dade County public and private high schools expand their awareness of the community and broaden personal experiences, as well as explore future professional goals. Applicants must be in good academic standing and have an interest in issues affecting Greater Miami, its youth and developing leadership and personal skills. Students will leave the program with new friends, leadership skills and a sense of pride and ownership of the community.
Participants must be present during both days of the conference and take part in a community project to receive their certificate of completion and community service hours. Students are required to complete an application process and submit a creative writing entry prior to being selected to participate. Scholarship opportunities are presented on behalf of the South Florida Progress Foundation to eligible candidates each year.
