PepsiCo & Winn Dixie Donate $5,000 to Urban League of Greater Miami for Local Scholarships

The Urban League of Greater Miami, Inc. (ULGM) in partnership with PepsiCo and Winn Dixie Achievement Matters Scholarship will award ten Miami-Dade County high school students with a $500 scholarship. The scholarships are made possible by a $5,000 donation from PepsiCo and Winn-Dixie in celebration of Black History Month. ULGM will award the scholarships to deserving students based on scholastic merit and submitted applications received by May 31, 2015. The scholarship recipients will be recognized during the organization’s Annual Meeting & Educational Awards Ceremony on June 11, 2015.

“We are honored and excited to have received this generous donation from PepsiCo and Winn-Dixie and hope that it is the beginning of a very fruitful partnership,” shares Sharron Henley, VP of Operations at the Urban League of Greater Miami, Inc. “Our Achievement Matters program has worked diligently to prepare our students to excel and build the necessary skillsets, and we look forward to being able to reward deserving students with a scholarship.”

The deadline to submit the scholarship application and required documentation is May 31, 2015. Applications can be found at www.MiamiUrbanLeague.org. Students at Miami-Dade County Public Schools are invited to apply.
