The health insurance marketplace is designed to make sure Americans are covered by health insurance regardless of their budget. Insurance plans are available to cover a comprehensive set of benefits, including doctor visits, hospital stays, preventative care and prescriptions. The government’s program includes plans that are designed to treat everyone fairly. No one can be denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition. This year if someone decides not to enroll in a health insurance plan, they might expect to pay as much as 7.8% of their income as a penalty.
Open enrollment runs from November 1st, 2015 to January 31, 2016. In addition to walk-ins at CHI’s health centers for enrollment assistance, those interested can call (786) 272-2100 to make an appointment with a Certified Enrollment Specialist.
“We have seen the benefits of the Affordable Care Act first hand,” said Brodes Hartley Jr., President and CEO of Community Health of South Florida Inc. “CHI is a place that cares for everyone regardless of whether or not they have insurance.
